I cannot believe the extreme weather our country has been having lately! In the US there are places that are getting snow and ice that never even get cold to begin with. I will definitely keep you all in my prayers!

My heart goes out to all the creatures - human and animal - affected by the floods.

So so sad, I live in Christchurch and we are still battling to get our city back from the ongoing earthquakes, but the devastation isn't half of that in Queensland. I can't begin to imagine what it much be like. Thank goodness for little rays of light, like that man with his boat full of marsupials and a smile on his face :)

I've seen so many amazing pictures of hope and tenacity from the floods, but I still think my favorite is probably those kangaroos in the boat. They probably aren't too excited about being there, but they know it's gotta be better than what they came from at least.

Hopefully the waters recede soon, though I know even then it will take a long time to get things back to normal.
